Just Us...

So I am sure many of you are wondering what Greg and I have been up to these days, the answer is ALOT..Greg has been home about a week and a half and has accomplished many things in this short time. He has done tons of little projects that we have wanted to do but have been putting off.

Project #1 -- changing out the light in the bathroom

Project #2 -- repainting shutters
I know, crazy, we could have bought new ones and been much easier but we figured we would try this first and see how long they last. It took about a day to complete by the time you took down the old ones, wiped them clean and repainted.

Project #3 -- redoing the bricks
Greg straightened the bricks in the backyard to where they are nice and level now. He did a great job!

Project #4 -- landscape lighting
This is something we have wanted to do since we moved in, however, our house has very few electrical plugs (when I say very few, I mean one in the front of the house one in the back, that is it!), so needless to say we had to hire an electrician to come and help out on the this. He added a couple plugs in the garage as well, so now we no longer have to unplug the appliances to use tools, woohoo, and he also installed a flood light for us in the back yard. We had no lighting out back except for the two fans on our patio. It took Greg and I about two days to install the lights and hook them up, not too bad! (Let me rephrase, I helped Greg the first day, the second day was ALL him)

Project #5 -- garden
This project is still in progress but will hopefully be finished soon. We are looking forward to trying to grow some vegetables, we will soon see if I have a green thumb or not! Lets just say that he would have already had this project complete as well except for the fact he had to completely take apart the tiller as it wouldn't work, after several days, he finally got it fixed!

Now on to what I have been doing, lets just say school. I have been so consumed by it you would not believe. I constantly feel like I am drowning. The week before Greg arrived home, I realized I went three days without taking a bath, seriously three days, can you say disgusting!!!(I know thank goodness no one ever comes to visit, I am sure I stunk beyond belief!!) I had one test this week, and one due next week along with a three page paper due and a group presentation. And the week after that doesn't look much better!! I have also been growing, I am posting a belly picture because people keep asking if I am showing the answer is yes and no. If you know that I am pregnant then yes you can tell, however if you don't know you would just think that I am fat. While Greg and I can tell it is definately there, others who don't see us as much probably wouldn't think twice about it. Actually Greg tells me almost daily that I look funny with a belly, I take this a compliment, as that means I didn't have one before right, haha! I know for a fact that if you didn't know me, you wouldn't know that I was pregnant, as Greg and I went my friend Heather house last weekend, and played some games with a couple of others and needless to say when someone asked me about my pregnancy there were about four people who couldn't believe I was pregnant much less 22 weeks!! Well I just wanted to give you all a glimpse into what we have been doing lately, hope you enjoyed the pictures!

OH, and on top of all of this we have seriously spent about two days on the phone, I kid you not TWO days! Some lady ran into my PARKED car and did about $250 worth of damage, nothing major, but boy has it been a headache. She filed on insurance so it is getting fixed. It was supposed to take a day, so Greg and I were like no big deal, we won't need a rental car or anything, well lets just say that one day has now turned into three and hopefully I will be getting my car back tomorrow we will see! It was just a hassle dealing with the adjuster and having him come out and taking my car in, then having to get a rental. I never knew what a pain something so small could be!!

Almost there.....

Well the room is almost complete. My mom finished the curtains and basket liners this weekend and will eventually get to the comforter but no real hurry on that as I am sure it won't be used much and will be more for looks then anything else. I know the wall above the baby bed is empty but I am waiting on a super special surprise to go there. I was told to save room above the baby bed for a project that is in progress, so until it arrives (which won't be for some time as the name is needed and since we aren't sharing it will stay blank and we will patiently wait for it unless I can call and say what it is without anyone knowing ;), haha).

Here is a close up of the bedding.

Next to the window is going another work in progress, Lauren is completing a frame that I ordered by writing a quote that I think fits any nursery perfectly, it says "On the night you were born, the moon smiled with such wonder that the stars peeked in to see you and the night wind whispered "Life will never be the same" because there had never been anyone like you...ever in the world." I just fell in love with the quote and can't wait to see it on the frame, I am sure the finished project will be out of this world! We also got a glider for the corner we are just waiting for it to come in.

A close of the curtain, and the reason why I haven't been able to post pictures until now!! Mom brought the actual curtain to me last weekend but once we hung it up, we decided that it was pretty plain and decided to make a valance. She also told me I couldn't post any pictures of the room until the valance was up, because it just didn't look too pretty without it (not that it wasn't pretty, it was just plain).....and I must say with it, it looks amazing!!

A close up of the basket liners that also turned out spectacular. I was unsure if these would or not, and I must they work quite nicely.

The last wall in the room....not much has changed except the decor on the bookshelves...

Other then those things the nursery is complete. I must say it is my favorite room in the house. It is just so relaxing for me, not sure if it is the colors or knowing that everything in it is exactly what I wanted for it. To have a mom that sews is incredible it, she makes everything I picture come to life plus more. The work she did on everything impresses me even more then I can say. This room really is everything I imagined for our baby plus more and I am sure she will LOVE her room, as much as I do....
