Uncle Brian....

I must say ever since the day I had Mackenzie, my brother has been there for her and never thought twice about picking up or anything. It is amazing to see how good he is with Mackenzie. I could not ask for a better brother for myself as well as a uncle Mackenzie. He will stop by and visit and play with her, the other day he even watched her while Greg and I enjoyed some kid free shopping time (too bad the shopping was only at Lowe's, for deer stand stuff none the less!)

From the start...

To now....

My Baby Girl....

Last night I spent some quality time with my little princess. Daddy was out of town on business so it was just Mommy and Mackenzie time.

Yesterday I have to say you were one perfect little girl, until it came to bedtime. I fed you, your bottle at 8:45 and you thought it was party time, when I went to lay you in your bed you just looked up at me and smiled your million dollar smile, I left you in your bed and within 5 minutes you were alseep. I love you to pieces little girl don't know what I would do with you!

Helper

Have you seen a cutier Helper for Santa??

Green Beans

We have officially tried our first veggie, green beans and she really seems to like them as well. She had her first taste last Wednesday and this was after she finished, not too messy, if I do say so myself.

Role Reversal

Yesterday we had a bit of a role reversal around our house, and lets just say that Mackenzie tried her Dad's patience to no end, but never once did he get really mad at her, I was amazed. We started out the day with church, and then Greg mowed the yard while I worked on some stuff inside and took care of Mackenzie. After lunch Greg had daddy duty so could finish up some of my projects that I have going to get our house back in order. Mackenzie let daddy have it, she spit up all over him twice, once all over his face (like a inch away from his mouth), I tried so hard not to laugh but couldn't resist. Then as if that wasn't enough, he went to change her diaper and she decided she need to go to the restroom in the middle of it, luckily just pee, and we keep a blanket down on the carpet so didn't get the carpet but it did get her and her blanket. She went straight to the bath tub after that. I think she was just trying to break daddy in, but either way it sure made for a funny Sunday.

Here is the cutie before church, pardon the toothbrush in my mouth (I didn't know I was going to be in the pictures too!). Oh and don't worry the hat went away once we got into church and a nice bow was put in her head instead:

By the way, my job security is officially gone, Daddy feed her green beans and fixed her cereal in the morning even though he didn't feed her the cereal. Guess that means time for a Mommy vacation!!

Is there anything like....

the bond between a father and daughter?

I am so lucky to have such a wonderful man to call my husband and could not ask for a better Father for my kids (hopefully eventually we will have more then one). When Greg gets home from work our evenings generally consist of spending time outside in the yard, going for a run, cooking super and then the all most important Mackenzie time. Now I have to give my husband credit because generally when he gets home from work he tends to Mackenzie 95% of the time, and Mommy is free (I say 95% because he has yet to feed her cereal (I know I keep telling him, he is going to be in trouble when I take a Mommy vacation) and sometimes he hands her off when she gets fussy but for the most part, she is all his). I mean I always knew that he would be a wonderful Dad, but he has far exceeded my expectations. He rolls on the floor with her, plays copycat (which I must add pisses her off quite royally), reads her books, plays peek a boo, talks to her, tells her stories, give her baths, just lays on the floor with her and has even starting getting up with her on the weekends (since she has decided to start waking up at 4 for a bottle for some reason). I am so thankful to have such a loving and caring husband that makes my evening a little bit easier. I know we are both thankful for our little girl and the time we have together as a family. As Mackenzie grows and amazes me each day, I must say that the love I have for my husband does the same. I am glad we had our time together before Mackenzie was born and ever so thankful for the time we get together now as a family when he gets home from work. Here are some pictures of how our nights generally are around here...

Busy Busy Busy

We have been super busy lately, working around our house, spending time as a family together and enjoying our daily walks. I must say my little girl amazes me more and more each day. She is finally getting to where she doesn't mind being on her belly, actually she was on it for almost 45 minutes this morning just talking to me and grinning. She has also found her feet and loves them (has known where they are for quite sometime now) and grabs and plays with them regularly. Yesterday she was fussy in the afternoon so I was going to take her for a walk, I put her in the stroller and immediately she stopped fussing, it is like she knew what we were going to do, she loves the outdoors and could spend hours out there if we would let her. I think our next investment will be a swing for her to sit in outside.

On another note, it is officially my favorite time of year. The holidays, the weather it is just all great this time of year. It has also had me in the cooking mood, yesterday I made dewberry cobbler, and today a chocolate chip pound cake. I have had one great helper too, as she just sits on the counter in her boppy just watching me. Here are some pictures from the past couple of days, needless to say I think she really likes these socks, but not sure how long the bows on them are going to last!! Needless to say this Mommy failed to get a picture of her in her opening day of deer season outfit, so I will have to take one next time she has it on as it was way too cute!
