When We Get Back....

It looks like we are going to have to get a nice set of patio furniture. The two little ones have decided the balcony is the place to eat. Mackenzie asked if we could eat lunch there one day and now seems they ask at every meal if we can eat out there. Although the table is quite small it does serve the purpose, so I can't complain too much.

The kids and I also ripped out all the dead bushes and shrubs in the flowerbed, I think we are going to try a garden, if we can find some seeds (so far no luck) but we will see, the soil is pretty darn crappy! We actually pulled them out one afternoon while Greg was at work, took him a bit to even notice we had done it, but I now think, as always he is taking over. We picked up a small shovel and fork and he was in the flowerbed evening it out and chopping it up (so much for giving me something to do) but like I said I guess it depends on if we can get some seeds!

In other news, the kids have been working on dance lessons (okay, well not really lessons), but they do like to blare the Ipad and dance. Mr. Jeff was kind enough to let them know it can be played through the radio to make it that much louder, like it wasn't already!

I was told Greg this weekend I feel like all we do is go to the grocery store, cook, and clean. His response after laughing was, you haven't cooked since Tuesday (oops!) wrong week to say it I guess! In all fairness I do cook lunch everyday he is gone, but I didn't cook supper. Wednesday we picked up Domino's Pizza, Thursday we had leftovers (can't have leftover unless you cook, right?), Friday we had a Chevron team dinner, Saturday we went out with some friends for his Birthday. I even made a some blondie brownies for his birthday, they weren't the best, the cookies and cake I have made previously were better (see I told you all I do is cook), but still not too bad!

Here are a few pictures of the kids eating supper last night (after playing in the rain) and of them dancing! They were actually sticking their head in the water puddles, it was quite funny but of course we didn't have our phones or camera!

Costco

We made to and from Costco safely. While my sweet girl still won't get her cheese dip (they did not have Veleeta nor Rotels)and chips, we got the next best thing Pace picante sauce! We also were able to get several things for her lunches for school like Rice Krispie Treats, individual bags of pretzels, a tub of cheese balls along with Fruit snacks. It is definitely not a drive Greg and I care to make every week or even every month, we were able to score about two pounds of ground pork for 10,000 won vs. 1 pound for 7,000 won, along with Cereal which is about the same, you get basically two boxes for 10,000 won and an individual boxes of cereal range from 6,000-8,000 won a box (NUTS)! So overall it was a pretty good trip! Our adopted 23 year old kid came along too! The kids are really starting to warm up to Mr. Jeff. He has been to Homeplus with us, the beach, out to dinner and now Costco! Below is a picture of Mackenzie and him from dinner the other night.

Toys Meant.....

A little skills work with Daddy.....And of course Mackenzie insisted on pitching to Braxton.....

Guess What Came In.....

Our air shipment, woohoo! We now have toys for the kids, my kitchen items (measuring cups, pots, pans, the kids cups), our home decor and most importantly our mattress toppers YEA!!!

Here are a couple pictures of the apartment, nothing too fancy but it suits us. We don't have enough pillows for the shams that match the comforters and Mackenzie didn't her pillow cases with her name on, it but hopefully in the seashipment they will which is set to make port October 18th if everything goes while and will be delievered a couple days later once it clears customs. Please excuse the little people in the pictures.

Hills, Hills and Hills

So many of you have heard me comment on the hills I must walk on a daily basis so I figured I would post a few pictures.  While it does stink climbing them 3 plus times a day, our apartment really is perfect for our kids and us so I guess it evens out! And it is steeper then it appears I promise!!

First Week in Korea

So our first week in Korea has been busy, we had our orientation course, defensive driving, applying for our Korean alien registration card, and of course Mackenzie starting school. It was busy to say the least. The kids are adjusting, or seem to be. They like the water and boats, along with playing at the park. Friday, I told Mackenzie if she didn't cry when I dropped her off like she did on Wednesday and Thursday, we would get pizza and eat it at the park and let me just tell you, you would have thought my kids were in Heaven. They both could not stop grinning from ear to ear the entire time. Saturday was a bit more low key, we just went to Homeplus, the big grocery store in Goyhean and went out for supper that night where we had Korean barbecue. One of the kids LOVED it but had to have the rib with the bone, picking the meat of was not good enough, the other kid didn't want to eat a thing, can you tell below which is which??? Sunday we went to beach in the morning and in the afternoon Greg and I went for a run. Our shipment arrives on Tuesday afternoon which is just in time as most things are closed on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday of this week for Chuesok which is the Korean Thanksgiving. Not sure what we will do yet, if we can get some cash we will probably go to Costco as it is open but right now Greg and I are having a hard time as our debit cards aren't working to pull cash out, this morning I am going to go to bank and try to do a cash advance on the credit card and see if that will work. All the gas stations only take cash or Korean credit card, and then Costco only takes cash or the Samsung credit card, so if we don't get cash we won't be going! Here are some pictures from the this week.....

In Korea 2 Days and Already Been to the Doctor....

Yes that is right, we arrived Saturday night and made our first visit to the doctor today. We went alone it was actually not to bad. The nurses spoke a bit of English and the Doctors did as well. My visit was 14,100 won or about $14.10 and Braxton was 14,710 or $14.71 they took pictures of the inside of his ears. I have inflammed tonsils and Braxton just has a runny nose and horrible cough. We both recieved medicines which totaled 27,560 won. Needless to say the doctor and medicine is pretty cheap but you have to mix everything. I recieved medicine for fever, cough, inflammation, runny nose, and I am not sure what all else as I have about 7 different pills and Braxton has 4 different medication but it is like I told Greg it is similar to the things in the US, we just have to mix it vs. buying it mixed.

Mackenzie first day of school was great! Mrs. Danielle Mackenzie settled in well. She was a bit shy at first but got her to play with another little girl and she was go to go after that and you would have thought she started last week. Tomorrow she will only go for an hour as we have our driving course but figure an hour is an hour and gives her a chance to socialize again.

Here are some picutres from her first day and the medicine we picked up.
