We Made It!

So we are finally in South Korea. We flew out bright and early Friday morning at 7:12. A van came to the hotel and picked us up at 4:30 to take us to the airport. We checked in all our 7 bags, 2 car seats, and one stroller with no problem and they didn't measure the dimimesion so we didn't have to pay for anything (woohoo!). Security was a breeze as well, except my sons was more then welling to take his shoes off but didn't want to put them back on (no he was not required to but the man was saying shoes off, laptops out, etc, so he was just falling the rules :)). By the time we boarded the first flight to San Francisco, both kids were asleep before take off. They each slept for about 1:30 minutes or so and were good the rest of the flight. Once we landed we had another 1:30 to get to our connecting flight on the other side of the airport which we made and Daddy went to get Chicken and French Fries for the kids. I must say First class in extremely nice with the fold down beds and everything but the food leaves something to be desired (Greg even said the food in Business is much better) but hey I won't complain too much. I think both kids were sleeping during take off on this flight as well. We slept in spurts for 1 or so and then the kids would wake up. Mackenzie would watch her TV, and play with Lucy (her doll) and snack. Braxton walked around the cabin but was quiet and didn't bother anyone just walked and would stop and stare at them for a bit. Over all they were really good, even the stewardess were complaminting them on their behavior! They got their GOLD wings on this flight, haha. There both wide awake for landing and figured they would freak out when we landed but didn't. When we arrived in Soeul we had 2:30 layover but had a good walk around, it was actually a pain at this airport as we had to get tickets printed even though we were checked in, glad Greg was with me. Lets just say all the complaining my husband did about the trunki's, in the end he was glad I brought them. They turned out to be lifesavers because for the most part the kids would ride on them or pull them themselves making much easier on us. Once we arrived in Busan we had a 50 minute car ride down to Okpo, which of course both kids fell asleep on. We finally made it to our apartment at 8ish our time (6 AM Houston time). The kids went to bed around 9 and were up at 3. I felt for our poor neighbors as my kids aren't used to apartment life and don't understand they have to be quiet. We kept them up until 1:30 and let them take a 2 hour nap, and they were both asleep last night by 7:30 and slept until 5 (Braxton fell out of bed) and 6 is when the princess awoke, so hopefully they are getting adjusted to the time.

Yesterday Greg and I put everything away and still have plenty of room to spare so hopefully all our other stuff will fit when in arrives and we dont' feel crowded as we did in our other apartment. This one has two balconies one of which we are using for storage as it is fully inclosed and only about 4 feet wide and maybe 10 feet long. After getting everything put away Greg made bacon, eggs and toast for breakfast. Needless to say neither one of us ate a piece of bacon as the kids wiped it out. I am glad we recieved a welcome package with a few things (bacon, eggs, milk, cereal and few other things) made it super nice otherwise we would have been going out our first night here. After breakfast we went to the playground and let the kids play, then walked around town. Our apartment is really good for the kids but man I am going to get a good workout anytime we go out there are seriously 4 hills you have to climb to get it; however I like it because the is room for the kids to play and lots of storage. After walking around time we came back had lunch and the kids rested. Once I woke them up from their nap we went and had Baskin Robbins and went to see the boats and walked along the pier. Finally we came home, took baths and ate pork chops, with potatos and salad for supper.

Today Mackenzie started her first day of big school. Overall I think it will be okay, she was hesitant to go at first but finally went holding her teachers hand. Greg and I have orientation today and our driving course tomorrow. Hopefully we get our car soon after as next Wednesday, Thursday and Friday Greg has off for the Korean holiday so maybe we can go somewhere for a day or two because I think the kids would go nuts in the apartment for 5 days, especially if our air shipment hasn't arrived and they have no toys or anything. Well take that back, Daddy has sucker written all over him and let the kids get a toy at the store yesterday, Mackenzie got a princess dress up set and Braxton picked up two guns!

Below are the pictures from the airport, the plane and M's first day. Also all our luggage we took!
