Packages

It is like Christmas around here when we get a package. These two love it! I wish I could record it. They get so excited, I am sure it is because they know that whatever is in them is generally for them. We are blessed to receive them as often as we do as we know they are by no means cheap to ship! Greg and I appreciate the thoughtfulness and are ever so grateful for you all for sending them!

Little Helper

I have a little helper who never lets me cook alone. I can not promise what we cook won't have licked fingers in the bowl, slobber, egg shells or anything else. As soon as I start something whether supper, desert or whatever, he drags his chair and plops is right beside me! Sometimes it does get annoying but then I remember I better enjoy it while I can because he won't do it forever, it is really is cute!

Our finished popcorn cake, that he was picking everything off and eating!

Happy Halloween from Korea!

Although Halloween is not celebrated in South Korea, the international school did celebrate it and even put together a little trick or treat for the kids at the townhouses. While it was not a huge to-do, it was better then it just being ignored as I don't want the kids to miss out on our traditions from back home.

Here are some pictures of the Fairy (after changing her mind several times this past week) and the Football player. We worked with what we had, and I think they look pretty cute considering I was not at all prepared as I didn't think they were going to get to celebrate it!

Braxton had no problem walking up the houses, Mackenzie was a bit hesitant at first, especially when they were up with mask and such but eventually got over and did great. I explained they were just playing dress up too and weren't going to hurt her, silly girl!

First Field Trip

Someone had her first school field trip today, and while she was super excited I must admit that I was a little sad as it is just another reminder that my little girl is growing up!

A New Place.....

This Friday, Greg had poker night with the guys. He didn't win, but he did spot out a great play area for the kids so Sunday morning we loaded up and drove over. It is nice and the kids loved it. We played for a little over two hours, until Braxton started getting tired and grouchy. The playscape was huge, two stories with slides. There was also an large open area perfect for biking riding and scooters. Opposite the playscape was a nice area with exercise equiment. Did I mention you could also go hiking?!?! It really had everyting. Mackenzie decided next time we go, Mommy needs to pack a picnic lunch for everyone! That kids amazes me with the things she comes up with!!

We also had to go to Baskin Robbins this weekend so I could get some more of the flavor of the month, Monster Cookie, it is AMAZING, and they will only have it until Thursday! The best way to describe it would be peanut butter flavered ice cream with m&m and I am not sure what all in it. Mackenzie loved her flavor too!

On a side note, we finally recieved our sea shipment. Not sure who was more excited the kids or myself. I finally have clothes and well my son at the rate he is going, won't have any left. Saturday he wore holes in the bottom of his pants and Sunday he got a hole in his shirt! I mean really kid, what are you doing??? They have all their toys, although it is funny as Mackenzie will ask where this is or that is, and we just say that is in storage, we will get it when we get back to our house in Sugar Land. She is also determined we need my "blue" car here, the silver one just isn't as good, she likes the blue one better! We also picked up a rug this weekend at Homeplus for the living room to play on, as well as lay on and it sure is nice verses laying on the laminate floor! I also broke down and paid $11 for some Salmon (about 1/2 of what we would get in the states for that price) as I have been wanting some fish, needless to say I won't be doing that again! The fish here is just different, it has a very fishy taste and was just nasty. Last time we were here all Greg and I wanted was Mexican Food, this time all I want is some good fish, vegetables and a cherry lime-ade.

Someone Started Gym.....

We finally found something outside of school for Mackenzie to do. While I would have preferred actual sports, we will take what we can get. She will go to a place called Tumland on Tuesday and Thursday. Yesterday was her first day and it was gym, Thursday will be music class. Needless to say she loved it! Now if we could just find something for poor little man to do. Greg and I are desperately hoping he gets into school come January, so he can be around other kids and get some socialization and hopefully help his speaking. While he does talk, he doesn't say much!

Monday Greg was home sick so little man and myself spent most of the day out and about. We went on a hike, to the playground and the exercise area. But he is definitely showing more of his personality (which is ALL Greg) and becoming quite stubborn about taking pictures. He has a new favorite play spot, our luggage, glad it is good for something!

Here are some pictures of him and video from Mackenzie's class!

Peek a boo we see you!!!

Yes we do own spoons, I promise!

Braxton's Shoe of Choice

Lately has been these....Not sure if it the fact they are boots or sister's or the leopard print, either way I told Greg as we were walking around town last week, that he looks like he works at Chip 'n Dales!

Seven Years.....

Greg and I celebrated our seven year anniversary on Monday, well at least the kids and I did! Pizza and Dr. Pepper, Mackenzie's request. Greg left for the Netherlands, maybe he celebrated with Mr. Jeff, not really sure. I must say that sometimes he drives me totally nuts and his OCD really gets to me, I honestly can't stand it. He is a great husband and father and I don't know what I would do without him. Here is a picture of the kids enjoying our celebration dinner.

What Does Braxton do During the Day.....

Why get into all of sissy stuff of course!!!

Weekend in Busan

So this Friday we let Mackenzie skip school and headed to Busan since Greg was off for DSME foundation day (and this will be his last holiday until our R&R and Christmas, both in December of course!) We left bright and early Friday morning and went to the aquarium. Mackenzie has been asking to go to the aquarium since we went in July in Dallas, she loved it. We arrived to the aquarium around 10. The drive was nice, not to much traffic and took about 1:30. We parked in a parking lot with the buses and was hoping the lot was not 24,000 won an hour (which is turned out not to be, thankfully, or I think my husband might have had a fit). The kids loved the aquarium and the fish. Mackenzie kept asking for the sharks which of course were near the end but all in all it was nice. They even had a play area for the kids, which Mackenzie and Braxton loved! I think the Koreans enjoyed watching my kids as well. Quite honestly they are quite the celebrities here, I am not sure they are going to know what to do when we get back to the states and not everyone waves at them or try to get them to give the fives!! After we left the aquarium we went have lunch as Burger King (woohoo) but the kids loved it! Braxton ate all 6 chicken nuggets that we bought him and Mackenzie and Mackenzie of course ate the french fries. I got a chicken sandwich that I was less then impressed with and Greg got a hamburger which I wish I would have gotten! After lunch we went to the beach for a bit and then headed to the hotel, and made the kids take naps and went swimming when they woke up. They had a blast, needless to say Mackenzie I think forgot how to swim so come next July when we are in we will definitely have to sign her up. Next we went walking around and had supper. We ate Korean, Greg and I like eating Korean, as I can cook pretty much everything American we want. One little dude loved his meal, and one little girl had to be bribed to eat her whole 3 (yes 3) pieces of meat. Sometimes he eats really well, sometimes she does, but we have discovered that if we care to eat out we have to go about 6, any later and neither eat! Following supper we went to Baskin Robbins and went to the open market to pick up a dumpling from the street vendors, I used to get them here in Okpo but have not been able to find them this time around. Our sleep that night was little, we had twin (yes Single) beds. I slept with Mackenzie and Braxton with Greg, but it worked and other then my daughter kicking me in the face, I slept pretty well, Greg did not. Saturday morning we picked up Dunkin Donuts and headed to Costco since we were already in Busan, after our shopping trip we headed home. It was a good time, nice to get out of town for a bit. We are really looking for to December and our R&R. We booked a trip to Phuket, Thailand, we will leave Korea on December 12th and return the 21st. I think come January we will start looking at our trip back to states probably leaving here the first week of July, and return the first part of August (at least the kids and I, Greg of course won't be able to stay that long) which means, the kids and I alone for one way of the trip (eek!!)

Here are a couple pictures from our weekend away!
